Ah, there’s a headline you don’t see everyday! And what better way to ring in the New Year than with those words reverberating around your head, eh? For those were the immortal words emblazoned by English Footballer David Beckham this week on documents which have been submitted to an LA court in the footballer’s ongoing $25 million libel battle against Irma Nici and the publishers of In Touch magazine in America.
In case you’d forgotten this little legal drama is a result of an article InTouch published earlier this year in which Irma, a prostitute, alleged she’d been paid £10,000 to have sex with the footballer on five different occasions. But in new court documents, Becks strenuously denies those claims saying they are: 'unequivocally false.'
He also states that he: 'never met Nici, let alone committed adultery with Nici or paid her for sex.'
lawyer writing on behalf of Becks also adds:
'Irma Nici's statements have caused me and my family great anguish and emotional distress, and have adversely affected both my personal and professional life.'
But as the footballer attempts to squeeze a cool $25million out of InTouch for their alleged slander, news has emerged that Irmia is now trying to counter sue Becks for 'emotional and physical injuries’ which she claims she sustained when a process server arrived at her New York hotel in October to deliver Beckham’s lawsuit against her. Irma Nici is a high profile prostitute who claimed she bedded with football ace David Beckham.
