There's no doubting the similarities between Katie Holmes and Victoria Beckham's new designer fashion campaigns - but who inspired whom?

Posh works her famous pout as she poses in lingerie in the latest ads for Emporio Armani, while Tom Cruise's missus appears to be channelling her former best pal as Miu Miu's leading lady for their Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

Although the ex-Dawson's Creek star keeps her clothes on, Katie's 'pob' hairstyle and dramatic eye make-up are almost identical to that of self-proclaimed style icon Victoria.

Katie even brought in the same world-class photographers Mert and Marcus that snapped Victoria's Armani campaign for her own shoot!

Victoria Beckham has already graced the covers of British and Indian editions and now the self-style fashionista can add the Russian version to her Vogue resume.

In the stylised shot, the former Spice Girl sucks her thumb in an apparent attempt at a little-girl-lost look.

It looks like Mrs Beckham has had a little help from the photoshop fairies to airbrush out her spotty complexion to give her flawless skin.

According to the magazine, Victoria is wearing a dress from her own collection and is sporting a hat from Loewe's Spring 2009 launch.

The image comes after the unveiling of a giant billboard of Posh and David Beckham stripping off to their underwear in an Armani advertisement.

The footie ace, 33, donned skimpy white briefs for the Armani ad, while Posh, 34, wore a lacy polka-dot push-up bra.

They have already posed for separate sizzling pics in a deal said to be worth £32million — but this was their first together.

It appeared on a massive billboard in Italian fashion capital Milan in time for the men’s fashion shows this week.

AC Milan player David is in the city on loan from LA Galaxy until March — and is said to want to make the move more permanent.

First it was Becks who got ’em panting, now it’s wife Victoria’s turn.

She has copied David by posing for moody black and white snaps promoting Giorgio Armani underwear.

She peeled off to briefs and a, er, Posh-up bra for shots inspired by 1950s cinema.

They will be used in a worldwide Emporio Armani advertising campaign in the spring, along with a TV advert filmed at the same time.

Insiders said Posh slogged in the gym for six months to get in shape for the job.

One source added: “She wanted to do something she could look back on in years to come and say, ‘I wasn’t looking bad for a 35-year-old mum of three.’

“She is really proud of the pictures and David loves them too.”

Italian designer Armani said: “She is a stylish and intriguing woman.”

Becks, nicknamed Goldenballs, was at the shoot near their LA home.

The 34-year-old England star, currently playing for AC Milan, wowed fans by showing off his bulging...muscles in Armani ads last year.
